Etihad Airways, the nationwide airline of the United Arab Emirates, has revealed a model new livery that includes the colors and branding of its associate, Indian cricket giants the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
The plane, which is the primary Airbus A320neo to be operated by a UAE provider and 20% extra gas environment friendly than earlier technology plane, will serve on Etihad’s brief haul routes. The plane’s inaugural flight will happen in December to CSK’s residence base in Chennai, India, delighting the thousands and thousands of followers visiting and residing within the metropolis.

In February, Etihad turned official sponsor of the Indian Premier League staff, CSK, for the 2024 season, with a particular ceremony launching the partnership held in Chennai and attended by hundreds of followers. Etihad has since introduced the partnership to life at matches with participating fan experiences and activations, together with distributing bespoke whistles within the form of plane for followers to cheer on the gamers within the conventional CSK model ‘whistle podu’.
Etihad operates 181 flights per week to 11 Indian cities, connecting Indian visitors to a variety of locations throughout the Middle East, Africa, Europe and North America. In 2024, the airline launched new routes to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, in addition to the ‘pink city’ of Jaipur and added frequencies to key gateways of Mumbai and Delhi.
In September, Etihad celebrated 20 years of flying to India with a red-carpet occasion on the Ice Factory Bellard Estate, Mumbai, attended by Bollywood celebrities together with Katrina Kaif, Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi amongst others.
